No more missing pacifiers in this house!

Paci Clips 500x500

Paci Clips 500x500I’ve always been against pacifier clips because of the metal clip that could tear our boys clothes or possibly cut their fingers if they grab one that’s open. We have had countless missing pacifiers and have had late night trips to the store so that one of the boys could go to sleep. I’ve been introduced to Stuff4Tots cotton pacifier clips which solves both of those problems!

I really like these pacifier clips because they have a plastic clip so they won’t tear clothes if tugged on, and we tested this, I asked S2 to pull as hard as he could with it attached to his shirt. Not only could he not tear it off of his shirt, but there was no mark left at all! Since they’re plastic they also won’t rust, which means they’ll last so much longer.I really like these pacifier clips because they have a plastic clip so they won't tear clothes… Click To TweetClips

They come with 4 in a pack and have both a boy and girl set. I loved the boy set, except that there was one that was striped and had multiple pink stripes on it. It doesn’t bother me to the point that I wouldn’t use it, but in the picture online it looks more orange than pink, so it’s a little deceiving. They would make wonderful baby shower gifts, or stocking stuffers for new babies!

I was easily able to get the pacifier through the loop, however, if you had a pacifier that doesn’t have the little dangle on it I’m not sure how it would work. It would definitely work best with the pacifiers that have the loop on the front. You may be able to twist the loop around the round part of a pacifier that doesn’t have the loop, but I’m not sure if that would work, since I’ve never tried, we don’t  have any of that type here.

I was easily able to open and close these one handed. Let’s be real… if we’re in need of one of these, we’re doing most things one handed!

Family, Friends, Food, and Happiness

Family Friends Food FB

Family Friends Food FBI’ve been MIA for the past week and I’m so sorry about that! I decided that I wanted to take a week off from blogging and focus on my family. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and appreciate what you have, so that’s exactly what I did. I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, food and happiness!I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, food and… Click To Tweet

We had a great Thanksgiving. This year I was able to help a lot because we had a huge celebration at my dads’ house with the entire family (around 40 people)! We also celebrated his 60th birthday which was a surprise. He knew the family was coming over, but he was clueless that we were also having a party for him. His girlfriend asked me to help a bit, which was nice to have a bit of control with a holiday. Usually all of the matriarchs have everything handled and we just need to make 1 dish and show up.

I enjoy cooking for a purpose and for others to enjoy. I have a tendency to get bored cooking mainly for the boys because well… they’re boys… they don’t like half of the food that I make! If our oldest was allowed to eat tacos every single day, he would. It’s nice to have your hard work appreciated! My husband enjoy’s cooking also, so it was great to get in the kitchen with him and cook together.I enjoy cooking for a purpose and for others to enjoy Click To Tweet

helping mom cookOur 2nd son helped me make my brothers gluten-free/dairy free stuffing and he had so much fun! He is so independent and didn’t want me to even get near the bowl when he was mixing. I tried to let him do everything himself, but I did need to step him and help mix.

My husband has been home for the past week and we’ve loved being able to spend every day with him. It’s so nice to see how excited our boys get when they see him walk in the door from work at night. I was so grateful that he was able to work in town and be able to help around the house. We did some much-needed deep cleaning in our living room and oldest sons bedroom. Our plan was to get all the Christmas decorations up, but that didn’t happen. I’m ok with it though, the boys and I can slowly get the decorations up this week.

We went to my moms’ house on Saturday and had Thanksgiving there with our grandma and that side of the family. It was very different from my dad’s house, we were all able to sit at the table together and pass the food around, where at my dads there was so much food that some was upstairs and some was downstairs and everyone was all over the place… which is just like his family so it worked out just fine. It was a big giant party. I was very grateful that I was able to have another Thanksgiving with my grandma, even if it wasn’t on Thanksgiving day. She makes these green beans with little white beans mixed in and some vinegar I think…. omg… I love them! I ate probably more than I should have, but they’re veggies right… it’s all good!

Christmas Pictures 2015Yesterday (Sunday) our friend Lindsay, who is also a photographer came to my mom’s house and took Christmas pictures of boys. This is a tradition that my mom has carried on since my brother and I were young. I love that she does this for us because I love any pictures, but being able to have professional pictures of our boys is so much better I think. The quality is wonderful and the poses that we come up with every year are always fun to do. The boys were troopers as usual. We used lemonade and cookies to bribe our 2-year-old when we started to lose him, and we used the pacifier for the baby when he was getting tired of being posed lol. Here’s a little sneak peek!

Overall, I’m very happy that I decided to take a little break from blogging, I love it, but I love spending time with my family more.

Pocket bibs are my best friend!

Pocket Bib FB

Once your child starts feeding themselves you’ll find that there is a whole other meal on the floor around them… unless you have a dog… then they get another meal! I’ve found that pocket bibs are my best friend once this starts to happen. Most of the food ends up in the pouch of the bib and not the floor.

Pocket bibs PinterestI’ve found a great pocket bib that I absolutely love! It’s a silicone pocket bib by Baby Go-Green that is so soft. I’ve had many silicone bibs for all 3 boys because they’re typically the only ones that have the pocket and these are by far the softest that I’ve found.

They have 2 fasteners which is the first time that I’ve seen a bib like that. I love the double fasteners for our 2-year-old. He always tries pulling his bib off and is typically successful, but with the 2 duel fasteners what usually happens is 1 will come undone and I’m able to get over to him before he gets it completely off. I’ve used these bibs for about 2 weeks now and he’s yet to get it off!

My absolute favorite thing about these bibs is that they're waterproof and dishwasher safe! Click To Tweet

My absolute favorite thing about these bibs is that they’re waterproof and dishwasher safe! I just toss them into the top rack of the dishwasher and haven’t had any issues. I’m part Sicilian so I make a lot of pasta dishes, which means that we have lots of little clothes with red stains on them and the bibs are no exception. Some of the other Silicone bibs that I have are stained from spaghetti dinner, and I’ve tossed them into the dishwasher also. The Baby Go-Green bibs have yet to stain!

The pockets on these are a nice size so they catch quite a bit. They sit a little high on our 2-year-old but they still seem to catch his mess nicely. I even catch him eating out of it when his plate is cleaned!

Big Girls Don’t Cry

Big Girls Don't Cry

People often tell me that I’m “such a strong person.” I take this as a compliment most of the time, but there are other times when I question whether this their way of politely saying that I’m emotionally broken.

Throughout the years I have built walls around myself. I have had people hurt me emotionally, been let down too many times, lost people who meant the world to me and have been lied to countless amounts of times. My walls protect me from being hurt again. These walls keep me “strong,” they keep me from showing people my weaknesses.

Big Girls Don't CryIf you ask my husband he’ll tell that you that all I do is cry, because he’s one of the few people who I’m comfortable enough with to show my true emotions to. If you ask my mom, she’ll tell you that I’m a very strong person. What she won’t tell you is that I’m also a pretty sensitive person, she’s seen me at my worst and she’s seen me at my best. She’s  one of my best friends so she’s watched those walls build throughout the years. She’s someone who is always there for me when I am having a hard time.

I like being a strong person, I don’t like crying in front of people because it makes me feel very vulnerable. Few people have actually seen me cry, let alone cry multiple times. Like my best friend says “you’re a tough shell to crack,” and she’s absolutely correct. My walls are tall and they are thick, I don’t like to let people see past those walls.

I like being a strong person, I don't like crying in front of people because it makes me feel… Click To Tweet

As much as I don’t want to let people in, and I like being a strong person, I also feel awful when I’m the only person not crying at a funeral or when someone gets hurt in an accident. Just because I’m not crying does not mean that I’m not hurting, it does not mean that I’m heartless, honestly, I wish that I could cry in situations like that  sometimes. There are moments when something will touch me and a few tears will sneak out and I feel human again.

The day after I gave birth to our oldest son at 26 weeks (you can read that story here) my OBGYN came into my room the next morning and said that he was concerned about me because I seemed “too happy,” he was concerned that I wasn’t processing what had just happened properly. I explained to him that I had cried all night long and I just don’t like to cry in front of people, but I appreciated his concern. When bad things happen, I do cry, actually I tend to cry a lot, just not in front of people. I will hold my breath and close my eyes until the feeling of crying has passed if I’m in front of people. I remember doing that very exact thing when the doctor told me that I was going to be giving birth to our son that day. I was so scared, but I had to stay strong, I had to be brave, I could not cry.

I was so scared, but I had to stay strong, I had to be brave, I could not cry. Click To Tweet

I’ve started to realize that I need to start to let those walls down a little. It’s ok to cry sometimes in front of people. I need to stop making people think that I’m emotionally broken. It’s ok to let people know that I’m hurting, it’s normal to hurt. I need to find a balance between being emotionally open and being the strong person that I have become.

I need to be realistic and know that my walls will never come down completely. They are there for a reason but it’s ok to lower them a bit. It’s ok to allow people to see me cry sometimes.

Nubee Meat Thermometer Review

Nubee Meat thermometer review

If you cook a lot of meat at home it’s essential to have a meat thermometer around. They’re easy to use and make sure that whatever meat you’re cooking with doesn’t become over cooked and dry or undercooked and unsafe to eat.

Nubee Digital Meat Thermometer ReviewI tend to cook a lot of chicken at home, so I’m always using a meat thermometer to make sure that it’s safe to feed our boys before I cut into it and the juices come out causing it to become dry if I need to pop it back into the oven for a little while longer. I have used both digital non-digital meat thermometers and I prefer digital because I feel that they’re more accurate and easier to read. The Nubee Ultra-High Performance Professional Digital Food/BBQ/Meat Instant-Read Thermometer also has a backlit display which is so nice in my kitchen because the lighting is awful and the light bulb above the oven is burnt out so it’s awful trying to read anything digital if it’s not backlit.

You can also store data which is great if you’re cooking more than thing at a time. You can use it on any type of food that you’d life. I tend to only use them on meat though. I made a chicken, green beans, and potatoes bake when I was testing it out! You can also very easily switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius if needed depending on your preference. It also folds up very nicely for easy storage.

Something really special about this thermometer is that you’re able to set alerts for high and low temperatures. This would be really nice if you’re busy with lots of dishes and want to place the thermometer into whatever is being measured and walk away. It can let you know quickly whether it needs to cook a little longer or needs some more lovin because you cooked it too long! 😉

My absolute favorite thing about this meat thermometer and all other Nubee products is that it’s backed by a Lifetime warranty! I have awful luck with meat thermometers so luckily I’ve found the last one that I will ever need!

Toddler Craft Tuesday: Pony Bead Candy Cane

Toddler Craft Tuesday: Pony Bead Candy Cane

Toddler Craft Tuesday: Pony Bead Candy Cane

This week I was feeling in the Christmas Spirit, even though I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet! I thought that it would be a fun idea to make a Pony Bead Candy Cane. I still have some that my brother and I made when we were young at daycare. I hang them on our Christmas tree every year.

What you will need:

Pipe Cleaner – Green

Pony Beads – Red and White

Pony Bead Candy Canes are great for hand/eye coordination Click To Tweet

Making these candy canes is wonderful for your their hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills. I had never done anything like this with our little guy before so I purchased 2 different types of beads, 1 that had a larger hole just in case it was difficult for him, but he bought right on after me showing him once. I will say that he lost interest rather quickly, but he started stringing the other beads onto another pipe cleaner because they were all different colors and different than what I wanted him to do. He liked how it turned out after we were finished though.

All you do to start is bend the end of the pipe cleaner and add the first bead so that they don’t push them all the way off and make a big mess (trust me, this happened the first time we tried).

Than just have them place the beads onto the pipe cleaner alternating colors. I found it best to hand him each bead in the order that they needed to go on. Once they get to the end you just bend a small amount over and push it into the last bead, then bend the pipe cleaner into the shape of a candy cane. It’s as east as that!

100 Days of Happiness: Week 3

100 Days of Happiness: Week 3

100 Days of Happiness: Week 3

Day 14: Today was a somewhat stressful day. We’re all getting over this virus which I’m so grateful about, but the baby is having a tough time, so after we picked our oldest son up from school we headed to the doctor. She gave the baby a steroid injection, oral steroid, oral antibiotic and breathing treatments. My happiness came when the injection kicked in and the junk in his lungs started loosening, which happened within an hour!

100 Days of Happiness: Week 3Day 15: Today was better! I was able to get a lot accomplished with the blog, which always make me happy when I start to get a head! The baby is feeling much better already. He’s starting to eat better and he’s bouncing around and playing a lot more. I love so much to watch our boys play and be happy. When they’re happy, that makes me happy.

Day 16: Today was a great day. I was very productive and had the opportunity to snuggle our little guy. He snuggles the least out of the 3 boys, so when he wants to sit with me I 100 Days of Happiness: Week 3milk it! The boys and I were also happy because my husband was able to come home early this week, so it was nice to be able to see him.

Day 17: I had fun today. I was able to volunteer at our sons school for the book fair, thanks to my mom. I love being able to volunteer, but it can be difficult to do when I have the 2 little guys at home. Our oldest son just loves when I’m able to make it out to his school to 100 Days of Happiness: Week 3help. We also had parent/teacher conferences today and our sons teacher said that he’s very well liked, he’s doing great in school and she doesn’t have any concerns. It always makes me happy to hear nice things about our children. After my husband and I got home we allowed the boys to eat some ice cream together and watch a movie since there’s no school tomorrow. At the end of the night, my best friend tagged me in a picture on Facebook that made my week. It’s something so simple but everyone mom needs to hear it… “Just in case you haven’t heard it today… You Are An Amazing Mom!!!” – Hot Moms Club

Day 18: The boys and I went out to lunch with my husband because we love being able to spend time with him. After we left lunch we went and visited my mom and soon to be sister-in-law during their lunch. My mom loves getting surprise visits from the boys. When we were on our way home we made a stop at Biggby Coffee… because it’s our favorite, and I was happily surprised to find out that I had a free drink so I was only charged for my sons hot chocolate… score!100 Days of Happiness: Week 3

Day 19: Our oldest son had his first basketball game today and he did well considering the fact that his team hasn’t had a practice together yet! It’s always fun watching him do something that he enjoys. Today is also the start to my “Deer Widows Weekend,” my husband left for deer camp after the basketball game. Hopefully he’ll be lucky enough to bring home a big buck!

100 Days of Happiness: Week 3Day 20: The boys and I were pretty lazy today. We just kind of lounged around until about 1:00 pm, then we finally went grocery shopping. After we ate dinner our oldest son wanted to go over and play with his friend so we all went over and hung out for a couple of hours. All 6 kiddos had so much fun together, and it was nice to talk to a friend. It made me happy watching the boys put on a concert for us, and play with the baby, then our middle son decided it was a fun idea to put on dress heals and straighten our hair with a play hair straightener! Silly kiddos! I can’t imagine my life without them.

My Experience With The One Fast Charger

My Experience With the One Fast Charger

My Experience With the One Fast ChargerI was given the opportunity to review the One Fast Charger dual port USB phone charger. I was really excited to try this charger out because my husband and I are always fighting over who gets to use the charger next on long road trips.

The first time that I tried this charger out my phone charged right up, it was really fast and I was really impressed! The next time that I got into the car I plugged my iPhone 5 in and it wouldn’t charge. A message eventually came up that said something to the effect of “This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably,” so I plugged in the charger that I was using before and it still wouldn’t charge, the same message kept coming up. I had used the same cable with the previous charger for over a month with absolutely no problem! The only thing that had changed was the 1 time that I used the One Fast Charger.

I contacted the company and they apologized and sent me the same charging cord that I was using. I still have not received it, but the estimated delivery date is November 17, so I’m hoping that I get it next week. They didn’t offer me a different charger in the email or give any type of explanation about what could have went wrong or let me know that they’re looking into it. However, they did comment on the Amazon review that I created and said that they’re not sure what went wrong but that they’re looking into it.

It is very possible that this was just a fluke thing, it could have been the cord that I was using, but it was working perfectly prior to the use of this charger. I could have just gotten a faulty charger, but I’m not willing to put another one of my cords at risk of breaking because those suckers are not cheap!!

Product Specifications

If you are interested in this charger, I will say that it is very soft and the ability to have 2 USB ports is awesome if there are 2 of you who need to charge a device at the same time. It is a universal charger so you can charge either an Apple Device or an Android. You can buy here.

Here’s a super silly trick to start potty training boys!

Super Silly Trick to Potty Training Little Boys

Here's a Super Silly Way to Start Potty Training Boys

I have found a super silly way to start potty training little boys! I started using this method with our now 8-year-old son and it worked! I’m using it with our 2-year-old, and it works great for him too!

First, I have always had a little potty chair that I can move from room to room. When they’re just starting to learn they don’t really know yet when they have to go. They’re just used to peeing as they walk, they don’t even think twice about it! When you’re able to have a little potty chair in the room that they’re in, its easier for them to run to the potty and go when they feel the urge.

I have always had a little potty chair that I can move from room to room. Click To Tweet

Now, once you have them on the toilet, or potty chair, my silly little trick is to ask them to toot! I have yet to find a little boy who does not think that flatulation isn’t funny! Our boys think that it’s hysterical and don’t typically hesitate when I ask them to do it on the toilet. Every once in a while our 2-year-old will giggle and say no, so I just leave it alone, and then guess what… he eventually does it!

I have yet to find a little boy who does not think that flatulation isn't funny! Click To Tweet

Asking them to toot seems funny, I know, but it gets them to push unknowingly. They will typically either pee or poop not long after they do it. If it doesn’t work the first time, don’t lose hope… just do it again the next time! The key is teaching them to push. You can literally see in our 2 year olds face that he’s pushing when he goes pee, sometimes I even think that he’s pooping but he won’t.

I can’t say that our boys trained quickly so if that’s the tip that you’re looking for you need to look elsewhere, but this bit of advice gets the ball rolling! Our 2-year-old has been potty training since he was 18 months old, he’s now almost 25 months. He also started earlier than most, but it was all him, he wanted to use the potty so we let him. I just follow his lead, I ask him everyday if he wants to wear big boy underwear and sometimes he’ll tell me yes and other times he’s just not into it and I can’t push him, he’s the type that we just need to allow him to do it on his own time.

When we started potty training, like I said, he was 18 months old… I had such a hard time finding little underwear that fit him! I did, however, find some great ones on They fit him great and they have a bit of padding in the bottom of them so when he does have accidents (which is every time he wears them) it doesn’t run down his leg and make a big mess. I wish that I had them with our oldest son! You can find them here.

So, don’t forget… just ask them to toot and before you know it they’ll be going potty in the toilet! 😉

Wink Eye Rejuvenation Cream by Vivant Skin Care Review

Wink FB

My experience with Wink Eye Rejuvenation Cream by Vivant Skin Care

I don’t know about you, but I always have dark circles under my eyes. I’ve always had them, but they’ve gotten worse since having children (shocker). I’ve been given the opportunity to try Wink Eye Rejuvenation Cream by Vivant Skin Care which soften fines lines, brighten dark circles, and reduces puffiness.

Wink Eye Rejuvenation Cream by Vivant Skin Care Review

I don’t typically use a special cream for my eyes but I hate my dark circles so I thought that since I was given this opportunity I would take advantage of it! When I received the bottle it didn’t come with any directions or anything, so I checked the bottle. It just says “Apply daily to eye area,” so that’s what I did. Well, apparently I used way too much because it was all in my bottom eye lashes and took forever to dry. I began to use less and less each day and now I’m only using a very very small amount, a little goes a very long way with this stuff! I was using it daily as the bottle states with no skin irritation.

A couple of days ago I received a large packet in the mail from Vivant Skin Care, I opened the envelope and there was a lot of fliers for their other products but there was also directions for the Wink cream. The directions stated that you should start out using the cream every other day for a week and work your up to using it twice daily as tolerated. I’m still only using it once a week. I have no problem with that but I think that this information should have been sent with the product, if I did have any irritation before I received the packet I would have stopped using it and not tried it again.

I will say though, after using this cream I have noticed a difference with the dark circles. I was a good review blogger and took a before and after picture, but guess what… my phone got all messed up the other day and I had to delete like 300 photos and apparently I was on a roll and deleted the before picture. I’ve found a couple of picture from before and after, unfortunately they’re not great and they’re not just of my eyes, but you get the idea!Wink Eye Rejuvenation Cream

I like that it can be used during the day underneath concealer with SPF. I always use concealer because of the dark circles under my eyes. If I could only choose 2 makeup items to use, it would be eye liner and concealer… I’d make it work LOL.
